The Acadian Memorial and CAFA (Confederation of Acadian Families Association) are teaming together to sponsor a bus trip from Louisiana to the 2009 Congrès Mondial Acadian to be held on August 7 thru August 23rd in the Acadian Peninsula of New Brunswick. For those who are interested in joining the trip, a meeting is set for March 16th at 6:00 p.m. at St. Martinville’s Acadian Memorial Conference Room. Calling All Cajuns!
Lafayette, LA ~ Calling All Cajuns! The Acadian Memorial of St. Martinville and CAFA, (Confederation of Acadian Family Association), is sponsoring a bus tour to the Acadian Peninsula of New Brunswick, Canada for the 2009 World Congress of the Acadians (Congrès Mondial Acadien). Cord Stuart, with History Break Tours, is coordinating the trip.
The bus will depart Lafayette on August 6th and return to Lafayette on August 28th. For those not interested in riding the bus for 3 days, a flight into Bangor, Maine will be arranged. The bus will meet those flying to Bangor on August, 9th. Afterwards, the group will enjoy a lobster bake in the Acadia National Park of Maine, then drive into the Acadian Peninsula the next day.
During the Congrès (World Congress of the Acadians), tour participates can take part in several events such as, family reunions, the Grand Tinitamarre in Caraquet, the closing ceremonies in Tracadie-Sheila on the 23rd of August etc. etc.
The entire package offers 22 days of motor coach transportation, 21 nights of accommodations, 21 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 4 dinners, luggage handling for 1 suitcase and a whole lot of Acadian FUN.

A $1000.00 deposit per person is due by June 5th. to reserve your rooms. The total cost of the trip for someone sharing a double room is $3,375.
