(Halifax, NS) – Celebrating the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the
French to North America, Congrès mondial acadien 2004 (CMA 2004) reports
that 25,000 individuals have already registered for family reunions for its
international gathering of Acadians in Nova Scotia, July 31 – August 15.

a) Municipality of Clare: CLARE MUNICIPAL OFFICE (902-769-2031) and THE CAISSE POPULAIRE DE CLARE, Meteghan branch (902-645-2661). Both locations are ONLY selling tickets to the Opening Ceremonies and the 400th Anniversary Concert.
b) Clare Municipal Office hours of operation:
Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (closed from 12 pm to 1 pm)
c) Caisse populaire de Meteghan hours of operation:
Monday to Wednesday: 9 am to 4:30 pm

– It is suggested to hold a three day reunion in 2004, the middle weekend of CMA.

– It is suggested to book a parish and a priest as soon as possible for 2004.

– It is suggested to organize a tour of the parish cemetaries in 2004.

– It is also suggested to book a space for the 2004 reunion asap.

Committees:

– The social committee will organize an event next summer with a mass and a lunch.

Miscellaneous:

– No board of directors was apointed or elected, nor will be, until a quorum is present.
