The 2014 World Acadian Congress will be take place from August 8 to 24, 2014.
The opening ceremonies will be held in northwestern New Brunswick on August 8, the Acadian National Holiday will be celebrated in Maine (USA) on August 15, and the closing ceremonies will be held in Témiscouata, Quebec, on August 24. The major events of the CMA 2014 will be presented on these three dates. Each in turn will showcase one of the three host sub-regions that make up Acadia of the Lands and Forests.

Sadly and unexpectedly on September 5, 2012, Yvon Cyr passed away. He had been looking forward to attending the Acadian World Congress in 2014. In his place, Yvon’s wife and sons, Judy, Daniel and Denis would attend. It was an event that gave them great pride in the accomplishments of Yvon and his memory, as many many people came forward to express sympathies and to tell stories of how Yvon helped them find long lost family members. They credited him with bringing their families back together!!!
