Upon ordering the Family Genealogy program:
Click on “Download: (Name) Genealogy Download”
This will send you a ZIP file, your computer should automatically use its own software to download the zip file. Using this program, select the download file by clicking once on the file name (Name_GM.GED) then select “Extract” from the ZIP program you are using.
The ZIP program will ask you for a location to save the program to, make note of this, or change the location from “Downloads” to “Desktop”.
After un-zipping the file, you can open your family tree building software and import the downloaded GEDCOM files from the location you previously saved them to.
If you don’t already have a family tree building software, there are many FREE applications available to download, and depending on your operating system, simply double-clicking the downloaded file may open a menu of applications for you to choose from.
An option to manage your family tree should include MyHeritage!
Through the download, you have purchased GEDCOM files my father, Yvon Cyr, researched using primary sources.
GEDCOMs are text files that contain genealogical information about individuals and the means to link the individual to others. Most family tree software supports the importing and exporting of GEDCOM files.
